What you don’t know: Netflix’s cartoon network Cartoon Network has become a fixture of the streaming service, with more than 100 cartoons available to stream across a variety of genres.
Here are the highlights: Cartoon Network’s cartoon-inspired TV show series, including The Amazing World of Gumball, The Boondocks, The Muppets, The Flintstones and more, are available on Netflix.
The animated sitcom The Big Bang Theory, which was one of the first shows on Cartoon Network to receive a theatrical release, was also available for streaming.
Netflix also has the first-ever animated feature film from Netflix Studios, The Jungle Book.
And the popular animated series The Simpsons, featuring Matt Groening as Homer, has been available for nearly two decades.
But the most popular Netflix series, The Brave and the Bold, is not a Netflix original, but a live-action TV series created by Groening and produced by Warner Bros. Animation, which has also produced the animated features The Smurfs 2 and The Simpsons: Tapped Out.
The animation is based on the book series by John Scalzi, a creator of The Smuarts.
The show is produced by Netflix Studios and Netflix Animation, with Cartoon Network producing the animation and Warner Bros., the studio that produces Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, producing the film.
The film was released last year.
The series also stars Melissa McCarthy as a single mom, Rosario Dawson as a schoolteacher and Anna Kendrick as the voice of the titular superhero.
The films are directed by Seth MacFarlane and star Jonah Hill, Kate Mara, Nick Offerman, Kate Hudson, Sam Rockwell and Jessica Alba.
The shows are also available on Amazon Prime Instant Video.
Netflix has recently launched The Mighty Ducks, which features Disney characters including the characters Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, along with the animated shorts and feature films from Cartoon Network.
